1933 to 1961

Heddon River Runt Spooks was one of the longest lasting production lures, spanning over 50 years. With this long production period, comes many variations both in cataloged and non-cataloged colors. It can be one of the toughest lures to color collect.

I'm going to attempt to show all colors known, with some variations. The body shape is a Midget River Runt; not all of the colors shown were offered on this series, but were offered on other series. Please remember that I'm showing 1933 to 1961 colors, see Later Runt Colors for the creme eye versions of some of these colors.

From 1943 to 1945 Heddon was engaged 100% in producing implements of war. It is commonly accepted to find colors that were dropped in 1943 with surface hardware. An assumption would be that Heddon filled pre-war orders in 1946 through 1948, thus surface hardware can be found on older colors that were discontinued.
